Khun Dan Prakan Chon Dam, formerly known as Khlong Tha Dan Dam, is located in Hin Tang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nakhon Nayok Province. It is the longest roller-compacted concrete dam in the world. It was built to store water, prevent flooding, and is used for agriculture, including hydroelectric power generation.
This project was initiated by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great to help villagers in the Nakhon Nayok River basin who were experiencing recurring flooding and water shortages during the dry season. Construction began in 1994 and was completed in 2005.
